Lost in all the hubbub over Navy beating Notre Dame for the first time in nearly half a century was the other big game in Indiana over the weekend. No, not that one--the game they played in Bloomington. The Hoosiers became Bowl-eligible for the first time since 1994 by beating Ball State. The now go to Chicago to take on mighty Wildcats of Northwestern before concluding their regular season against Purdue over the Old Oaken Bucket.

(I'm thinking I picked a pretty good season to start following college football. It has been wide open, which is cool, and nothing else that I like has been any good. It is a sport full of quirks and traditions, too. I don't think I've ever heard of the Bucket Game, for example, and did you know that Northwestern fans jingle their keys at the start of each kickoff?)
